ENDINGS
Alternate endings are notated with a bracket line and numbered 1 and 2, designating the measure to be performed first and then after completing the repeat you jump to the second ending.
When sections of music are repeated, alternate endings are sometimes required.
Sections of music can be repeated as many times as the composer instructs the player, but most often you will experience music with a first and a second ending.
The measures below show first and second endings.
The measures above are performed as follows:
Play Measures A and B, repeat Measure A, and then jump to Measure C.
