BASS PLAYING-POSITION EXERCISE
Begin with the Bass resting on the floor. Later on, you may find that adjusting the end-pin will make the reference locations you learned line up more naturally, but for now, begin with the end-pin fully retracted inside the Bass.
EXERCISE STEPS
- SET THE END-PIN
- STAND UP WITH THE BASS
- STEP TO OPEN YOUR STANCE
- EMBRACE THE BASS
- ‘V’ LEVERAGE STEP
- GRAVITY GLIDE TO POSITION
Now let’s group KEY-WORDS to Remember, as two short phrases.
SET – STAND – STEP TO SIDE,
EMBRACE – V – GRAVITY.
At the teachers’ meeting, Scroll made a helpful suggestion. Since everyone is learning to become True Musicians, students can use music to help them register information. Immediately Q jumped in the air and gracefully defied gravity he loves so much and said,
“I will put words to simple songs so everyone can remember the exercise steps.”
Most everyone knows the song “Row, Row, Row Your Boat.” Even though many of you may not read music yet, Q has set the steps to music. Let’s go to the next page to learn the song and make the steps easy to remember!
