V LEVERAGE STEP EXERCISE
The purpose of the V Leverage Step is to learn to pivot your Shoulder Horizon as you
Default 3
Face forward. Begin with your Shoulder Horizon supported by a grounded and balanced stance.
Keep your Shoulder Horizon over your feet.
Default 6
Move your right foot back and place it in the back right box – toes pointing right.
Point your left foot – toes forward.
Stand with a balanced and poised stance in the new position.
The Leverage Step gives you the leverage you need to support your instrument naturally.
Q’s Teacher suggestion: Ask the class to line up close to the Main Player’s Box.
The Leverage gained from the Leverage Step is valuable to all players.  It creates a leveraged sitting playing position too!
