Preparing for String Crossings
Good to be back! I’m here to show you how to apply String Playing Principles that you learned earlier to your pizzicato motions.
String-crossing motions are anchored by the tip of the right thumb, allowing for proper application of Leverage.
While Practicing Always Think Ahead!
Plan the most efficient application of motion to Pizzicato String-Crossings. Be prepared and ready to play before you need to perform the next note.
Every string has its own specific location, and so does the set-up of your right hand and arm in relation to the fingerboard.
When performing pizzicato, adjust your right hand and arm to the level of the string that you are playing.
Minimize your motions when crossing from string to string.
By mastering these concepts now, your bowing will be more effective.
