The QUARTER REST
The Quarter Rest equals the duration of a Quarter Note: 1 BEAT.
Quarter Rests look like wavy lines or ribbons.
When drawing quarter rests by hand, you draw a simple bracket symbol.
Default 11
Of all the rests, the Quarter Rest is the most prevalent.
Quarter rests are quite functional in the sense that they visually mark each beat of rest during multiple units of silent beats. Personally, I appreciate quarter rests as quite functional too, since they are represented as my calculator arms.

The measure to the right, displays a Quarter Note followed by a Quarter Rest and a Half Rest, completing the measure. You will see this rhythm combination frequently.
