As members of your orchestra advance in skill level, they will be able to perform together in the community. Planning performances at local civic organization meetings, accomplish many goals. Music has great communication power!
Being recognized as having the ability to perform in an honor’s ensemble motivates students to practice and advance. In addition to gaining valuable performing experience as musicians, positive social skills are developed when representing the orchestra as “ambassadors of good will.”
In the spirit of the compositional form the divertimento, a short music presentation helps to add pleasant diversion, and serves to inspire all involved. When enjoying entertainment provided by talented and hard working young students, organizations get to enjoy a pleasant diversion at their function too.
Create an Outreach Plan
Compile a list of local civic organizations and senior centers.
Bringing young students in to perform at Senior Centers brightens the senior’s day. They’re able to enjoy performances conveniently in their Center. Seniors make a great and appreciative audience. At times, recalling fond memories, starting new friendships with the young musicians, make for a memorable, happy day.
Here is list of possible civic organizations to contact: Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, City Council, Lions Club, Libraries, Garden Clubs, Kiwanis Club and other community-minded business entities that may be interested.

Currently, we are working on raising funds needed to bring professional musician coaches to our school.
Our ensembles will visit Senior Centers and perform for those who otherwise would have been unable to attend.
