VIOLIN VIOLA POSITION SONG and QUESTIONS 3

VIOLIN AND VIOLA PLAYING-POSITION QUESTION #3
Default 2
WHEN IN PLAYING-POSITION, IS MY INSTRUMENT POSITIONED WITHIN THE SPAN OF MY V-LEVERAGE STEP?
It is important to use an aerial vantage point in order to check that your instrument is located correctly. Imagine the view that a bird would have if looking down at your playing-position.  When in proper playing position, your instrument must be secured in such a way that it is always centrally located to your body.
The picture above, from an aerial vantage point, shows where the scroll is when correctly positioned within the span of your stance. Your instrument’s scroll should remain just inside the left side. Whether you are sitting or standing to perform, always keep your instrument’s scroll within the span of your V-Leverage Step.  (review the Leverage Step)
Practice going from rest-position to playing-position and check that your instrument’s scroll arrived at the proper location. Adjust your motions as necessary, striving to achieve the proper location. Repeat the steps again, with the goal of pin-pointing the perfect spot.
