BOWING WORLDS53

Default 1
STEP TWO
Keep your shoulder down and relaxed and swing open your Shoulder Arc, bringing your Bow-Arm directly above the D String.
Default 1

Suspend the bow over the string and sense the force that gravity has on the weight of your bow-arm. Keep your bow parallel to the bridge, ready to land this weight onto the string.

STEP THREE
Locate the bow hair area nearest your right thumb and prepare to land the bow on the strings at the bow’s lower segment area.

Without moving the bow horizontally, now land the bow onto the D string. Keep the bow still and stable on the string.

Congratulations! You just found the Bow Contact-Point.

Now, lift the bow off the string and return to rest position.

Let’s repeat the exercise again and make bow landings on different strings. Try placing the bow at all different bow-segments.

Choose a string and bow-segment. Now, please return to playing position and perform the exercise in rhythm. Let’s go! 1-2-3-4

Default 9

Practice mastering contact-point landings at all bow-segments.

Focused Bow Contact-Point practice brings control and clarity to your bowing and core to your sound!
