BOWING WORLDS74

BOW SPEED
Hello, again! I am quite impressed with everyone’s progress. Q asked me to return at this time so that I can help you determine the proper amount of bow-speed needed when performing varied rhythms.
Most often, the speed of bowing motions are faster when the bow needs to travel further. This is true, unless the note that you are playing has a longer duration. All of this makes sense when applying this rule:
Bow Speed Helps You Control Rhythm Proportions!
Proportions are the proper relationship between things.
In this case, the proportions are between Bow Speed and Note Durations.
While performing Rhythm Work-Outs earlier, you learned to clap and count The Cycle.
Bowing Exercise #5 uses same rhythm.

Bow Speed Proportions
Move the bow more slowly when performing half-notes and whole-notes.
When performing quarter-notes, apply quicker bow-speed.
V has a few things to add, and then you will perform The Cycle as Bowing Exercise #5.
