Exercises are training tools. You are in-training to become a fine string player.
Goals of the D Major Training Exercises:

  • Practice interval patterns and pitch relationships.
  • Solidify excellent left hand-position playing principles.
  • Reinforce rhythm and steady performance tempo.
  • Gain experience performing technical drills.
  • Improve focused listening skills in order to exact pitch.
  • Build finger independence and dexterity.

Mastery is increased by multiple repetitions of exercises and drills, performed properly. Always focus on musical precision. Training exercises serve to train your ears and hands to accomplish what you are learning.

Practice with exceptional form, always listening to your pitch. Performance confidence is gained by perfecting technical skills, which builds your trust in their accuracy and reliability.
