D Major Notes
Now that you are experienced with the D Major Pitches within one octave, you are ready to learn how to perform notes on all the strings.
On All Strings!
Traveling from string to string and position to position, requires you to shift your left hand to varied range locations on the length of the string.

When Shifting
Guide and Glide!
Each instrument has its own finger options, some are shared and others unique to only your instrument.
When learning about bowing string levels, you discovered the value of finding the proper right arm level in order to apply leverage naturally. Good News! The exact same principles hold true for your left arm too!
Whether shifting to locations on the same string or changing from string to string when creating notes, find your own most natural corresponding left arm location. This increases your performance comfort, confidence and accuracy.
Default 16
Here are Left Arm, Elbow and Hand Position rules that work!
  • Your Shoulder stays relaxed and never lifts towards your ear.
  • Your Arm arcs to the string level needed and supports your hand.
  • Your Elbow swings your hand to playing position.
  • Your Hand’s Base Knuckles work best when parallel to the strings.
  • Your Fingertips approach the strings from above the strings.
Scroll is now ready to teach us finger location details and terms.
