DYNAMIC CHANGE COMBINATIONS

By now, you probably noticed crescendo and decrescendo, (dynamic change symbols), around my name  <DYNA>. 
When a composer wishes for a gradual increase in dynamic volume, which then is followed by an equal decrease back to the original dynamic range, this combination is nick-named the hair-pin.

Since you know about different dynamic ranges, now you are ready to learn about dynamic changes.
When listening to music, almost everyone has adjusted the volume of the speakers on various electronic devices. Dynamic changes can be viewed in much the same way.

The CRESCENDO
CRESCENDO means to GRADUALLY INCREASE THE VOLUME

YOU CAN THINK OF THE CRESCENDO AS A GREATER-THAN SIGN.
CRESCENDOS ARE MOST OFTEN WRITTEN BELOW THE MUSIC STAFF.
CRESCENDOS HELP TO ADD INTENSITY TO MUSICAL PASSAGES.
